Monitoring Officer

The Monitoring Officer is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the implementation of DRC monitoring activities in the Urfa field office area.

Under the overall supervision of the DRC Project Manager in Urfa, the Monitoring Officer will have the following duties and responsibilities:
General duties and responsibilities
•Oversee the implementation and coordination of the activities in Urfa;
•In close collaboration with the Project Manager (Urfa) and the Grants Manager (Hatay), establish the monitoring framework and structure;
•Work closely with protection, distribution and database staff to consolidate, manage and update beneficiary lists;
•Provide training to assistants and volunteers as needed;
•Follow and ensure compliance with DRC Standard Operational Procedures.

•Supervise quantitative and qualitative data collection activities at field level;
•Assist DRC teams in preparing monitoring tools;
•Ensure teams conducting home visits can provide information to beneficiaries about access to services, etc.;
•Manage and conduct focus group discussions with beneficiaries, as needed and directed by management;
•Refer cases to protection team when identified;
•Keep logistics team and supervisor informed of any safety incident that might take place;
•Solve problems and conflicts that might occur during monitoring and respond to minor complaints coming from beneficiaries.
•Assist DRC teams in preparing monitoring tools;
•Ensure teams conducting home visits can provide information to beneficiaries about access to services, etc.;

Reporting and information
•Submit weekly and monthly reports to the Project Manager (Urfa) and Grants Manager (Hatay) on achievement and challenges related to monitoring;
•Protection cases identified and referred in coordination with protection team;
•Produce periodic monitoring reports for internal stakeholders to ensure programs have accurate and useful data to inform project development;
•Participate in the internal evaluation of the program;
•Any other duties as agreed with the DRC Project Manager/Country Director.

Accountability
•Ensure that the activities are compliant with DRC accountability principles, including Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) guidelines.

About You
•University degree or advanced training/courses in statistics, socioeconomic studies, international affairs, emergency management, or other related fields;
•At least two years of relevant professional experience;
•Voluntary or professional humanitarian experience with a humanitarian aid organization;
•Fluency in Turkish and Kurdish; exceptional command (written and spoken) of English. Arabic is a plus.
