The Finance & Admin Assistant’s main responsibility is to provide financial and administrative support to DRC and partners as per DRC and donor regulations and procedures.
Who are we?
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world. DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves.
In Turkey, DRC is supporting partners to work with Syrian non-camp population displaced to south/southeastern Turkey.  Funded by BPRM, the program includes activities in community centers and various outreach activities.  The program also includes activities in 2 community centers and various outreach activities.
Duties
Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager, and the Head of Finance and Admin (HoFA), the Finance/Admin Assistant will have the following duties and responsibilities:
 Finance and Accounting:
•  Daily accounting (bookkeeping) according to DRC financial handbook.
•  Manage petty cash and clear cash advances upon request.
•  Prepare monthly cash counts.
•  Maintain proper filing of all financial documentation (vouchers, contracts, tender documents, etc.).
•  Cashbox counting according to the financial handbook.
•  Transferring payments when needed and follows up with partners’ reports.

Administration:
•  Receive/forward/file correspondence, reply to mails and letters, as per instructions.
•  Conduct photocopying and other office work.
•  Maintain inventory lists.
•  Purchase stationary, plane tickets, hotel booking and other items, as per instructions.
•  Support procurement of equipment and material for the office (plus Business Cards & IDs).
•  Track use of vehicles, mobiles and other equipment among staff.
•  Submit and monitor ads in local newspapers.

Reporting:
•  Assist with collecting, reviewing, correcting and filing all financial progress reports from the partners.
•  Support financial report preparations.
•  Submit progress and status reports to HoFA.

Other:
•  Provide logistic support when required. 
•  Complete other tasks as requested by Project Manager and HoFA.

About You
•  Relevant university degree; finance, accounting, administration or similar field.
•  Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
•  NGO experience preferred.
•  Good communication skills
•  Excellent interpersonal skills, commitment to the values, vision and mission of DRC.
•  Good computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel…)
•  Self-motivation and strong team spirit.
•  Well-developed organizational and planning skills
•  Able to communicate both verbally and in written in English and Turkish. Arabic is a plus.

•  Able to travel to other DRC project locations upon request.

•  Punctuality and respect for rules and procedures.

•  Self-motivated, goal/results-oriented and able to work well in a team.
•  Demonstrates flexibility, creativity, tolerance and maturity.

An interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant an initial contract for 6 months. Salary and conditions are in accordance with DRC Turkey’s Terms of Employment for National Staff. You must be available to work in Sanlıurfa (Turkey).
