FINANCE DIRECTOR (M/F) TURKEY/SYRIA/IRAQ
in Gaziantep, Turkey
The post is to be filled as soon as possible, and has an initial contract term until December 31, 2015. The office is located in Gaziantep, Turkey. Duty trips will be required, taking into account the security situation.
Objectives and responsibilities of the position
As Finance Manager you are part of the Senior Management Team in the regional office, you are responsible for all financial administrative processing in Turkey/Syria/Iraq. The goal of the post is to provide support for the projects in the region in accordance with the framework specified as regards content, time schedules and finance.
Your most important duties are as follows:
- Monitoring and ensuring the proper planning of financial and material resources
- Assisting the Regional Director with carrying out his supervisory duties relating to pro-gramme administration
- Providing administrative and technical financial support to the Head of Project and partner organisations in drawing up the financial section of final financial reports in accordance with the appropriate guidelines
- Providing guidance and training for local and international finance experts
- Monitoring and ensuring the accurate and prompt drawing up of internal and external financial reports
- representing Welthungerhilfe with local decision-makers, donors, other aid agencies and development organisations operating in the project area
Your qualifications will include:
- a university degree or polytechnic degree or business training with additional special knowledge in e.g. accounting and controlling
- several years of project-relevant experience in the administration of large co-financed pro-jects (over 20 million euros/year) of international aid organisations, preferably in this region
- proven track record in leading financial teams with expatriate staff
- coordination and organisational skills - even under a high workload
- EDP knowledge (knowledge of financial software is considered an asset)
- a very good command of English, both written and spoken
